Why You Should Hike & Try New Things and Places

I believe that one of the most amazing things in life is to be able to see different cultures, landscapes, wildlife, nature, and people. 

Hike & Try New Things

Being able to experience new things allows an individual to grow and learn more about themselves too along the way. Experiencing new things also stimulates your brain and forces it to think harder, which stimulates more creativity as well which can influence other aspects of your life. Keeping your brain ‘young’ and continually stimulating it can lead to a happier and fuller life, so make sure to try lots of new things!

An example in my own life of experiencing something new was when I visited the Badlands this past summer. I have done many hikes and walks before but I have never really climbed, and the Badlands offer a vast amount of land that you can climb on. Although I do not love heights I still started to climb around and go higher and try different stops to climb up and it was one of the most fun times in my life and afterwards I did not want to leave, and I just wanted to keep climbing all day. So, this is a new experience that I had and enjoyed and from it I learned something new I like to do and to push myself into slightly uncomfortable situations because those are the best opportunities to grow!

I encourage everyone to try one new thing a week. Remember you will not always have a success and love the new thing you are trying, but that’s part of the fun trial and error! So, always keep trying new things even if you have a failure.
