Where to Hike
There is primarily one trail, but SO many different caves to explore along the way.
In addition to the cave trail, there is a prairie trail.

Bring a flashlight so that you can see into the caves! This is a necessity.
Bring water of course!
Camping
Campsites
All campsites at the Maquoketa Caves State Park are only reservable online. (Click here for link to reserve campsite)
There are campsites that are pull in and have access to electrical outlets for RVs, campers, ect. as well as for normal plug ins.
There are 30 campsites total. 5 of the campsites are hike in, but a very short distance.
- There is a dump station
- There is drinking water pumps
- Picnic table at each site
- Fire ring at each site
- Full service bathrooms (during the summer)
- Porta potties during fall & spring!
