How Long Does it Take to Build a Habit?

Unfortunately, there is not a magic number to the amount of days that it takes to build and maintain a habit. 

Sometimes the timeframe of 21 or 30 days can be used to describe how long it takes to build a maintainable habit, but this is not the case. 

Every individual is unique and with that comes different amounts of time to build and maintain a habit

Building a habit
A habit can take up at least 6 months to fully become maintainable. This answer steams from the transtheoretical model of change. 

So, it can take anywhere from 3-6 months, or more, to make a habit stick and be in the 'maintenance' stage.

The most important thing when developing a habit is to be consistence and disciplined.
