Staying active mentally is just as important as staying active physically! Keeping your mind active, and stimulating it, can increase your concentration & attention span and the ability to adapt to new situations. 

As we age, these aspects of the brain diminish, so it is important to keep up with our brain stimulation to delay the aging process and increase our longevity! 

There are many different ways to stay active mentally which are mental simulation experiences. 

Here are some mental simulation experience ideas that can keep you staying active mentally!
  • Puzzles 
  • Crosswords
  • Mentally calculate instead of using a calculator
  • Read more including books, news, articles, and magazines 
  • Stay social with friends and share experiences together 
  • Learn how to do a new hobby like sewing, knitting, gardening, or cooking  
  • Play bingo, bridge, chess, or solitaire 
  • Expand your knowledge with a certification course or a college class 
  • Continue to work 
  • Volunteer 
  • Exercise! (this can kill two birds with one stone! Exercising can keep you mentally and physically active both very important to increasing longevity).
